Generalized anxiety disorder is having intense feelings of apprehension that are not directed to anything. The person is always worrying that something terrible is going to happen but doesn’t really know what it about. The worries are very persistent but nameless.

It is also known as a free-floating anxiety. You just worry about things but unable to describe the things that which worries you the most. It is free floating since your worries are not attached to anything. It is just there hovering inside your mind.
Have you ever seen a movie wherein a psychic or a seer stares blankly to a wall and tell the people around them that something is about to happen. They didn’t know specifically what it’s all about. The only thing that they are certain is that it is bad. What happens is that people around them also starts to worry for things that they don’t really know much about. Having a generalized anxiety disorder is like becoming the psychic. Only that you don’t have the same power as he is. You just make it your job to worry about things day in day out.
Aside from the vague apprehensions, you also exhibit physical reactions of anxiety. This includes motor symptoms such as tremors, restlessness, sweating, heart palpitations, dizziness, and stomach discomfort. These physical reactions that are also observed with panic attacks are different. They tend to be a milder form of anxiety attacks. Other symptoms may include extreme awareness of the surroundings and over attention to small things. These can make you feel like being on the edge at all times.
