Different anxiety disorders

It is normal to worry. All people have worries at the back of their minds. Knowing the difference between normal worries and Generalized Anxiety Disorder can help you stop worrying whether your anxieties are serious.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder is a chronic state of anxiety directed towards nothing specific. A person suffering from this condition has a bad habit of worrying about anything. There is nothing specific in their worries other than they expect something bad is going to happen. They are very jumpy and restless most of the time. They are very vigilant and aware of what is happening around them. Unfortunately, they use this to increase their anxiety by connecting unrelated incidents. They tend to exaggerate bad news. They see each day that passes by as if it’s one day closer to the end of the world. If a newspaper article indicated a slight decrease on the value of dollar, people with GAD can easily translate it as a start of recession.

People worry for different things. It is normal to worry when you lost your wallet. Or if you suddenly found out that your friend was involved in an accident. Often times, you are able to control your worries and prevent them from consuming you.
The difference between a normal worry and GAD worry is on how long you worry on things. A normal person worries’ are short term and incident related. While a person suffering from GAD suffers anxiety for a longer period of time and just recycle their worries into the different aspect of their lives.
